No band is going to be perfect.
I don't entirely agree, but we'll go with your premise. If you focus on what's wrong with a band, you'll never be happy. Focus on what is good about the band, you might be surprised how much difference that will make.

No band is going to be perfect.
LiquidMidnight said:Meh, it was just a joke based upon the abusive relationship cycle posited by Walker. It seems like every couple of months, you create a thread about how it's so tough out there auditioning. Then you find a band that is going to be the next Beatles. Then you start seeing problems with the band. Something happens with you leaving the band. Rinse, repeat.
You seem like a likable guy, Blue. But the ad nauseum cycle of you and bands and band drama has almost become a parody of itself.
Update:
I should have a yes or a no from the band tonight.
The 2nd audition was more like a rehearsal.I played from 7 till 9.
If they want me to come back again, while I have nothing to lose, I will decline and wish them the best
I want this opportunity but not so bad that I will audition 3 times

Actually, the long process of getting a new member translates to more security for you.
I'm sure this whole process is stessful, but try to maintain a positive attitude...

I will agree here 2 times is ok and have done this and seen this myself but three no way. If they want you back to play without telling you if you are the man I would put it on the line to them right then and there. Am I in or not?

Sorry BB, but I disagree. If you really want something, you gotta do what you gotta do. If they have other guys to audition, its only fair everyone gets their chance.
Obviously, if the band is just jerking you around, that's a different story...
You usually crirticize blue for being bullheaded, stubborn, and too independent...
Every song is somebody's original. The only difference between Green Day's originals and my originals is my ego.
I like playing good music no matter who wrote it.
But then, I'm not trying to become a star, just a working musician.

I do think he was short changing himself during this band audition process and said something to him. He is like me and just wants to play and needs it to make him complete. Maybe more than me or others here but its part of who he is.
Sometimes this makes him say and do things he should not but thats part of it. At least thats the way I look at Blue...he's passionate, much more that allot here and just wants to find a band that will work as hard as he does if I have read him right.
If I'm wrong Blue...sorryhope you get the gig.
I think I might make more sense to those looking back at 40 plus years of playing.
I've been playing for 40 years and you don't make any sense to me.
bassbully said:Blue, after you got back with them the other day did they say if they were still having other bassists try out or what is holding them from making a choice?
