I used to use the open core Rotos but strictly DR Sunbeams now

EB Super Slinky (45 - 100) on the MkII 4
EB Cobalt Slinky (45 - 130) on the MkII 5

The Cobalts have a really nice strong growly midrange and very focused lows, while the nickels are a bit brighter with more of a scooped sound.

PS: I also had Cobalts on the 4, but the G string snapped at the bridge saddle and I couldn't find any replacement (neither single strings nor whole sets) in my area. So I went back to my favorite StingRay strings... the Super Slinky set.

These were basically the only cases that came with Wals before the blue fibreglass (dogbone?)ones came out

From what I gathered, the brown cases came with everything before 86 (MkI and Pro). Because it seems as the MkII was being developed for 86 release they changed to the blue case.

My first custom Wal was ordered in the 1st month that Paul started the production again. I just waited 5 months and it drove me crazy ! I can imagine how much almost 2 years could be a very painful waiting ! Congratulations !

Hi wal mates, anybody knows if the walcrew is on holiday?? I email them few weeks ago for pricing and shipping on some new spare parts, i want to install gold mechanics on my wange mk1, need to change the poles and i will change also the frets!!! They didn't reply me yet!! I wanna do everything in sept!!

I got also some weird idea...starting to think about trading my mk1 for an mk2...not sure yet...
