On an unrelated note. My red wal should be on the way. Is there any change in value or harm in having another fretless neck put on it. Either buying one or having one made. My bass should be here in early december. How much tone difference comes from having a neck fit vs having another neck etc. Seems it should affect sound transfer to the body. Or is this the egghead over anylitical side of me. So was the one I just paid for a hoax?

I called about that bass. The store owner is supposed to call me if it comes back. Fretless basses don't come up as much. After reading more on that website with the serial numbers makes me wonder the wisdom of changing necks or just play them where they are. I want them for the collection. I'm going to play them but don't want to hurt them either feel like they are history.

Speaking of retaining value, my Wal is from 1982 and I was considering preemptively changing the capacitors before I have to deal with leakage (insert old age and leakage humor here). I assume replacing something of that nature would have no negative impact on value, would you guys agree?
