I noticed that too, but I know it's been a "thing" for some non black Wal basses to have black necks. so it's possible that was from his red bass

edit. saw caca's post in the other thread about the neck. the man knows his Wal history like few others. so who knows what the deal with this neck is....

The Lee's Black bass was a MKI and this not is not a MKI neck , this is a MKII 24 frets. He used he red Wal MKII a lot of times in the past,I had some old magazines that can prove it. Besides this you can find some live clips in youtube that shows Geddy and his Red Wal. Roll the bones clip is with the Red MKII bass.

I will say NO!
Im almost 100% positive that Geddy's black MKI had the old 2 piece style string retainers on the headstock. Which means the screw holes would be in a different spot. The neck on ebay has holes for the longer one piece string retainer.

Is it possible that the seller does not know Wal's?...and this neck came from his MKII? It would make more sense because of the 24 frets and string retainer....but i still say BS!

Yes, I'll get the face of the fingerboard resurfaced sometime in the Spring (it's not pressing at all). It was used it's whole life with rounds, and I will also continue using rounds on it. Example; my G string lays in a slightly different spot than the original owners G, so I'll want to rid of the old string marks.
It fit fine and nice and tight, in fact fits better/tighter than the original neck. I also briefly tried the neck on my black Geddy MkI, and it simply looked awesome on that black body.

They're sporadic as far as availability goes. You might see a couple a year, then a couple years go by before you see another one.
