Well heres a mk1 with another neck!
Dont really think he ever played a mk2 but he played mk1 (black/gold like my mk1) and mk3.

:D Yup, mine should be called the John Illsley/Dire Straits edition (black w/chrome).

Geddy had two black MkI's, and one had a natural neck. So since Jason was such a huge Geddy fan he must bought the same pair of MkI's.

Funny that Cliff's sound was so much more present with his Aria than Jason ever was with the monstrous Wal. When I was 14, I started playing bass maybe a month after hearing Kill 'em All for the first time and I've been obsessed with them ever since (pre Black album of course), though I'm very happy with my MkI and would never consider an Aria!

I agree, but i would love to have the cliff area also! I have the privilege to try one out a month ago or so, with a demo version of maby a future cliff fuzz wahwah! And it was a insain great feeling! The bass sounded so good! Not cheap at all:( 7 grand !

John Taylor of Duran Duran used an Aria in the early days, and more recently on the 2006 full reunion tour. His bass tone was thin but very present on those early albums. The Arias have a certain appeal, and I've been shopping for one, but the Wal's definitely can punch through a mix farther.

Heres a small tip on how to make things work without destroy the bass!
Im so happy i found the right kind of black plastic to make it look the same as the rest of the plastic on my bass. And its easy to change to different colors ;)
Let me know if some one needs
slapplate for the Mk1.
Expensive like hell off course;)

Wow, you're looking for a needle in an ocean that will probably never happen in your lifetime!
What could possibly be wrong with your MkII that you need both the pickups and preamp? Your post just leaves a lot to the imagination. 4 string or 5 string? And have you not reached out to Paul to have your bass restored?

Did u get a third Wal? Thought you had a fretted and fretless Mk I.

I'd have to agree with Caca on this. Knowing that Paul will not sell either one by itself, makes it next to impossible to find someone willing to remove the heart and soul of a Mk series bass.
