Now that is one sweet Craigslist find!!! Awesome figuring on that shedua!! What a yummy 5er!!

I know! Funny thing was about this one is that I was bidding on a 5 string with Sequoia facings on eBay and lost by 8 seconds that was the closest in 12 years I have ever come to getting one. About a week goes by I told my guitar player friend of mine about it and I was pissed that I lost the auction and he said " there will be one right around the corner" I'm not kidding you 3 days later he calls me in a panic wich he never does and tells me there is a Wal for sale on Craigslist in New York City. Now I looked at it and was in love immediately I had to have this. I live in Buffalo NY so I was hoping this man would ship it and it was the hardest thing to try not to sound like a scam artist but after a few emails with this guy he agreed I sent him the PayPal payment arfter we comfirmed that we were legit to make this happen. He shipped the next Monday and to make it all sound like a friggin fairy tail it was delivered on my birthday sept. 10th couldn't have asked for a better birthday gift and it even came with the Wal blue case. It's Just unreal how this happened. It's good to be a part of the club finally.

Be careful with your truss rod.

I was extremely careful to the point where I was sweating. After I put new strings on it the neck was a little too concave so I just turned it a small amount but i was real nervous because many years ago I broke a rod in one of my Warwicks before.

guess cutting 20-22 month wait time/international shipping/customs sure has a premium these days!!

If a new bass is about $6500USD, plus 300 shipping and say 15% for duty, taxes, brokerage, and other fees, you're looking at close to $8000. To skip the 2 year wait and pay an extra $1000? Someone might just pay it.

I thought that guy was crazy for listing his 4 string Carl Thompson for $7000 but he ended up selling eventually. Time will tell....

Actually you need to convert the shipping from pounds to dollars as well so £300 is more like $450. At that price I would rather wait and have it custom built for me, which is what I've done. You can also do what I did, which is wait for the pound to go weak when you make payments. I've paid mine off already and saved a couple hundred bucks by doing that.

Are people seriously selling Wals used for almost 9 thousand dollars now?! That's ridiculous. You can have a brand new one for less than that. I bought my wal for HALF that price on ebay, and that was only a couple years ago. 9K for a used wal. That's crazy talk!

So I've had a few sets of Rotosound Funkmaster's sitting around the house for a while. I put a set on the Geddy today and fired up some Power Windows and Hold Your Fire. By the time I was done I was wearing a dinner jacket with parachute pants. Boy howdy that was fun!

There's a difference between what someone is asking and what something sells for, unless it's a very special Wal it won't sell at that price.

Its like that Mk I on basschat for 5000 GBP, but that one looks pretty special since its a full slab of schedua and doesn't have a Mahagony core. supposedly the radius of the fingerboard is different too......

I don't have full specs....i was doing a search and grabbed that photo from a site....not much info other than its facing that was already mentioned. thought it was a nice picture to share in the club.
