Greetings everyone,

I have a new Mk III inbound from Wal. Can anyone advise the easist smoothest way to handle customs????

Care to elaborate? Is this bill part of customs fees? In lieu of customs fees?

Yes the bill is for the customs/brokerage fees. They'll mail you the bill usually a week or two after the bass is delivered.

Or make you pay it on the spot. I had to take a cashiers check to the UPS customer depot before I could take mine home.

You can avoid paying UPS brokerage fees by having the shipper indicate "clear own" on the waybill, then just clear it through customs yourself.

Hopefully this will go under the radar, but if it doesn't expect to see a bill from the state after tax season (july-aug)

My repair is still pending completion. Work for NAMM is understandably taking priority.
Hopefully, work can continue in time for me to get it back in February.

I have a question and it might sound on the dumb side...... has anyone adjusted the plated pole's on the pickups? is this like raising the pickup height or is it for something else like attack sound? reason I ask I find my E string not sounding like the others its not dead sounding it just doesn't seem to have the growl I guess.

What I do is I'll adjust the pickup height so that the distance between the pole piece and the string is 6mm on the E string, and 5.5mm on the G string, and those pole pieces are either flat or slightly above the pickup rim. From there I'll adjust the pole pieces on the A and D strings to mimic the fretboard radius of 12". Once that's done you can specifically adjust pole heights as required, if your E string sounds different, adjusting the pole height will likely help.

Yes I will put some up soon....It is a 96 MK3 5string with Shedua facings it is my first one took 12 years to find one! I got lucky on craigslist (of all places) after years of outbids on ebay but I love it. thanks for the help by the way! I will keep in touch how the adjustments go.
