Wal Bass Club.

I'd rather not say who, kinda famous, don't want to say anything for privacy reasons. I'm in Vancouver BC CANADA. Mk2 then, Mk3 top horn seems too long, but if the price is right... Maybe it'll be different when I play it.

Well you're in the right place, and Caca de Kick is one of (very) few to help you find one, he is a great person to talk to, I hope you get one soon to welcome you to the tribe mysterious BassCadet78.

I feel it is my duty as a member to inform you that it is very difficult to own just one Wal though, I am certain that shortly after your take possession of your 1st Wal, you most likely will be jonesin' for another one...

unless your looking for a player worn one or one with known issues....there is no such thing "if the price is right" when it comes to BUYING a Mk2 or Mk3.....especially a 4 string one....expect to pay a pretty penny OR WAIT to get lucky coz certainly someone else will bite it first before it'll be spoon fed to someone else. I actually know a couple that are for sale or potentially for sale, but they will only let it go "if the price is right" since it's a prized possession - my self included.

just to give an example on how the dollar to pound benefits us. the cost of a standard mk1 is £4250. Back in February 2015 i paid a deposit when the rate was at £0.63 (paypal). So for this example the Mk1 would cost roughly $7063.49. Now at £0.69 it would bring down the cost to $6449.28. Not bad for those who want to add extra options. so order or pay up people :D:laugh:;)

if you want to go through the bank for payment or use your credit card, you might get the market rate which is usually 0.01 or 0.02 more (at £0.70/0.71 currently)...........

case in point.....comes to show......ya can't just own one people!!!!!!

sweet! i knew that bass looked familiar with the no front dots and black hardware!! great action shot and making sure both of em were well in the picture!!!

ya, your not crazy.....just got "Wal fever"!!! what's crazy is picking up two new builds at the same time from Paul and ordering another two builds in the same month. That's insane!!!!!! lol, if i had the means, i probably would do the same thing - but for me its the options that kill me :bag:;)

Recent volatility has been attributed to rumors of England leaving the Euro Zone. Final vote is going to be in late June. As rumors change like the wind, I would heed Jose's - @kulit17 advice and order or pay up.

There's your financial tidbit of the day from your uncle Eddie! :D

Cheers.

reading some market analysis....go now or wait a bit longer.................. :eyebrow:

"There are, meanwhile, some pretty dire forecasts in circulation, along the lines that the weak pound -- which Capital Economics reckon could reach 1.3000 against the dollar, and HSBC thinks could be in for a further 10-15% decline" (which equates to 0.76923 just remain consistent)

its kinda hard to say what the normal weight would be. from what i heard they are typically a pound less than their Mk1 or Mk2 counterpart.

For my example it makes sense: the weight difference between these two is a about a 1 lb

Help!

I have a fantastic Wal Mk 3 fretless 5, which I love. However, the neck pickup appears to be really noisy/distorted. Fresh batteries didn't do anything. Any thoughts? I recently moved to San Francisco--anybody with recommendations on somebody who knows about Wal electronics here?

Thanks for any information!

What year is your Wal? Could be caps that need replacement.

I have a Wal Mk3 fretless 5 from 2001 that I just had to send the electronics back to Paul Herman at Wal. It was the same "Bass" potentiometer that went bad, he replaced it, cleaned all the connections and had it back to me within 3 weeks time. Cheaper than I expected and when it came back all the electronics sounded brighter, deeper at times, more crisp and clear.
