Wal Bass Club.

Nope. Not even that nice. No joke, it arrived in a cheapo SKB style hardshell case. When I ordered the bass, I just figured it would come in something nicer and didnt even bother asking to confirm. Luckily the bass arrived in good condition and Ive gotten a hard gig bag for it since then. I saw a Wal case on ebay a few weeks(?) ago for around $500.

What I gathered, at that time frame was the fiberglass cases were no more and they were transitioning to the Hiscox.

The ebay case was absolutely stupid priced, but it actually sold for for less at around 350 when you back and look at the sold history. "Usually" they go for more like 250, but they don't seem to be popping up much lately.
Otherwise for that price you can always buy a new Wal/Hiscox case, they're around $240. I did once for a Mk2 I had, but shipping was another $200 (I ordered other spare parts to make it worthwile). I certainly wouldn't buy an old fiberglass case for that kind of money.

I am rather fond of my tank-built Mk1 flight case, it's so protective. It's darn heavy, I'm sure not going to be taking it to casual gigs that's for sure. OTOH I'm not so fond of my Mk1 dogbone for any reason lol.

Would prefer to trade out the dogbone for a clean (current-day) Hiscox.

And if there's a Mk2 flight case floating around out there somewhere I'd like to get my hands in it, too.

That is most likely the W251203. I have never seen another one like that.
Here's a picture of Pete with the bass. Picture was taken by Chris Franklin. A long term friend of Wal.

That's the very same bass that Kulit posted two pages back.

Anyone have a 4 or 5-string fretted Wal (MkI, II or III) they're looking to sell? If so, please hit me up via PM. Thanks.

Also, if you know where I can find one for sale, I'd be very grateful

If you look on basschat, there is a dude selling three: a 4 string and two 5 strings. Now, he originally said he had the certificates for rosewood shipping, but recently he changed to EU only. however they're not selling so maybe you can talk him into overseas shipping? Worth a try. The 4 string has a synthetic (rocklite) fingerboard so should ship no problem.
