For being somewhat bland looking compared to highly figured woods, I think that finish looks awesome on a Wal.

Wal - Electric Wood does not do trade-in and upgrades - its not in their best interest. They also don't put basses from owners on consignment as other builders may do.

They would ONLY BE new instruments. Last year there were a couple that were built for this specific purpose.

Miki's Mk3 that was picked up by Scott was one (pictured ripple ash - rightmost bass above) and a purpleheart one that i can't seem a pic off.

and @Caca de Kick purple Mk3 5-string build was another

@graphics1988 have you seen this pic? i believe this was taken before Miki requested to change the hardware

Yes Paul does throw in a few extra builds, I'm very sure knowing they will be snatched up.
PJ picked up a walnut Mk3 5 string this way. And another club member a couple years ago picked up an unsold Mk2 4 string. Which was what prompted me to snag the maple Mk3 that Paul had available...and I had him do the violet finish and chrome hipshot tuners, and my preferred neck profile to make it 'mine'.

Came across this picture of some JGs on the new Wal website. Interesting in the context of shorties. Look closely at that JG in the middle... clearly a shorty AND with a stubby upper horn. Wonder if that was the JP1111?
