I remember seeing an all white Mk2 which I think was not mahogany, but instead Spanish Cedar. I could use another pic of that one, wherever it is.

That belongs to Oliver. He has since sent it back to HQ and had it refinished to black.

But spanish cedar is actually most similar to mahogany.

I don’t know much about the wood. The previous owner told me the guy that had it built had sent the wood to Wal for them to use because he wanted it so I believe it’s the only Wal with this wood.

That is one beautiful bass. Not seen birds eye redwood before. Redwood is a very rare Wal wood but I know at least one other. This lovely flamed redwood that a chum of mine owns...

IIRC, that one is Spiritchasers. Alas, it is now black. He had it refinished.

I love white instruments. I have more white ones then any other color. I would of loved to have a white Wal. I’ve sold several white basses/guitars and this is what’s left... minus the recently sold Ric which the money was used for my Wal.

Thanks man! I don’t know much about the wood. Not 100% on this. @kulit17 would honestly probably know more about it than me, when I first got the bass he had posted a pic of what looked like it being built in the shop. Assuming he knows the person the bass was originally built for perhaps?

ha! ya i did not know the original owner. I knew the past 2 previous owners though. The pictures i sent you were from the old yahoo Wal group page. Looks like the original owner may have had two done at the same time.

but ya Gareth in the UK has a lovely redwood as @TrevorR mentioned.

The spalted bass got two necks; a fretted and a fretless, so the owner could switch. Its the two necks with the Pete the fish logos.

Yup guy who bought it was really particular about it being as white as possible. Funny cause it was more yellow under the guard. I bought it form the original owner and he took really goo care of it. it was a '78

lol no, its not going to be white
a couple guys here know what it'll be, but i'd rather show it then tell it at this point now. i placed my deposit 10.27.16....so its been about:
