I’ve seen you reference your paduak Wal a few times for having such a super aggressive tone. I wonder if such a difference is just from the top wood or if it’s just a fluke thing and that one happened to have extra bite. Did it have a satin finish? When I compared my Wals I found my MK3 to be much more aggressive but I attributed that to the poly finish.To further muddy the water with maple & mahogany. I have a 2015 maple & mahog Mk3 4 string, and 2016 maple & mahog Mk3 5 string. Acoustically they sound different to eachother, and pretty different low-end as well.
As for aggressiveness... of all the ones I've had, Shedua and Padauk have been my most aggressive ones.
I absolutely believe in the timbre of the timber, but I also believe there's no guarantee of the outcome.
