haven't been around here for quite a while and I can say that my Spanish Cedar fullbodied MK2 4 from 2010 weighs in at 4.4kgs.

My fretless 2016 Mk. 1 weighs in at a comfortable 9.5 lbs. I specifically requested a lighter weight core (having heard stories of boat anchor basses), but I’ve read that Wal typically selects lighter weight cores for their fretless basses regardless.

that is true. You can't see the body wood.

I have been thinking of this for a few days now.. If you have an Mk2 built with the neck heel/pocket of an Mk3, would you be able to switch necks with a stock Mk3 no problem?

in theory, you 'should' be able to. However if the neck or body of either or both basses has a gloss finish vs satin, the pockets are sized taking finish thickness into consideration.
I had a Mk1 neck that wouldn't fit a different bass' glossed body.

Has anyone changed the jack on their wal to be able to use a right angle cable. 3 times at the gig last night I pulled my cable loose. I move around a lot and that’s why but I’d like to use right angle. My leg kept pulling it out and I kept cutting out.

Yup you'll need to dremel and open the opening a bit for it to work

Also if your handy with tools...you could mod the existing one instead of buying a new housing.

I have a Skjold with a recessed jack like that. Just feed the cable through the strap like this:

I loop my cable over the strap button, so no chance of the cable getting pulled.
I move around alot too, and eventually went to wireless. Edit* my wireless cable is looped like the pic above ^.

I loop my cable around the strap at the bottom button and add a loose single overhand knot to ensure that even if I give it a solid yank not only will it not pull out, but it also will not damage the jack or the plug.

Surely you tuck your cable through your strap? Don’t you?

Yes and I had it looped like above. I had to buy a brand new cable for my wireless since the last cable I had was right angle. I have my body pack pouch fairly tight so the cable doesn’t have much slack. I share the strap and pack with my Spector as well and would really like the right angle since that is a side jack as well.
