Whats interesting about this performance is that there are two bass players. Looks like Colin on the higher register with the Wal and the other guy mostly on root notes.
Thank you! It’s funny, I originally ordered the build as a solid white bass (like your avatar), but later changed my mind, thinking I’d kick myself if I didn’t order something that allowed the wood top to show (it’s from “Electric Wood,” after all). I was looking for something unique for the facings and selected this top from the first group of choices Wal sent. I’ll post more photos once she arrives.Just love the black headstock with white Wal logo. My new build will have this as well. Yours is stunning! The facings!
It was an appearance on David Letterman’s The Late Show which has its own in-house hot band of session pros. So XTC are effectively playing along with the house band or vice versa.Whats interesting about this performance is that there are two bass players. Absolutely love this song. One of my faves by them.
Where is @Jaymi when you need him?![]()

Love this clip!
Yeah, I just think it’s interesting they obliged for two bass players when I’m sure Colin could have just laid down the main bass riff. He’s signing so there’s that and they never play live so there’s that too.
Does anybody here know the standard fretwire size for a Wal?
Don't bother, just buy a fretted MK1Does anybody here know the standard fretwire size for a Wal?

Thanks, everyone for the quick response! From fretboard to top of fret .035"
Width of tang .025"
Total width of fret .115"
So very close to a 6130/6140 Dunlop "med jumbo/jumbo"
