Honestly, I’ve started to realize I’m just not as comfortable on a 5 as I thought I’d be. Kinda miss my 4 string Wal. Of course I don’t realize this until after purchasing a Wal 5 and a Dingwall 5 :rollno:

Yes, I used to have a five string Ric. A 4003S/5 from ‘97 I had custom made for me. Turns out I never liked it. Held onto it for years for sentimental reasons. Finally sold it a year or so ago. Made a killing. I’ll never own a fiver again. Just not for me!

Honestly man it’s heading that way for me too. I just dumped my Dingwall 5 today. I’m aftaid the MK3 will be next in favor of a 4 string. 5 just isn’t for me. I wanted to like it so badly and figured if I had a Wal 5 I’d adapt and it’s just not happening. 4 just feels like home.

As a complete idiot who knows nothing, after a brief skim here, I think I want the MKIII because they maybe run lighter? Is that accurate?
An 11-12lb bass would not be a good thing for me.
An 8-9lb bass would be more in line with my back, and other basses.

Is there a brief rundown somewhere that explains the basic differences bt MK1-2-3 etc?

I’m not knowledgeable on any of this at all...
