Yup, I also believe there are way more Alembics made than Wals.
But I've never played one that reminded me of a Wal.

I know this is a Wal thread but it looks unique for sure. 4 string, Musicman, 4HH, but looks like silverburst with a white pickguard.

If Musicman got him to do an artist model they will sell a boatload.

I had a SR5 HH and did not like it at all. I returned it not to long after I got it. My slightly older ceramic SR5 H sounded better. FWIW I sold both MM’s And have a Spector now. Way more ballpark (loaded with nordstrand guts) with my Wal than any MM I’ve ever played.

Love my Spector Rebop. Gritty, in your face, can still sound incredibly bell like... monstrous lower mid growl. All in one package, unique and easy to identify signature tone to boot. Spectors are definitely amongst the best basses out there.

if it’s modded I bet he has that nordstrand setup in them. That other W bass probably weighs more then his wals.

I've owned a ton of basses and the only two that came ballpark close for me was Spector, and the 79 Ibanez Musician. Those Ibby's have boatloads of shimmer and a super high output preamp like a Wal does.

I'm not sure if that Nordy gets close, but it sure sounds pretty nice regardless.

I've gotta agree with Mike as far as the Spector is concerned. The HAZ Lab pre is outstanding and can grind when you want it to yet have great versatility stylistically. Doesn't have the mid-range burp or filters like the Wal but it is a monstrous sound. I think a lot of folks steer clear of the Spectors is because of the stereotype of being exclusively a Rock/Metal bass on top of the difficult ergonomics...especially if you are under 6 feet. It would be interesting to see if JC ever tried out Spector...we know he was cavorting with Warwick for a bit but it doesn't look like he's using them so far. Wonder if they will show up later in the tour.

No, he gave it back to them, and they had it up for sale on their website.

Since I acquired My MK3 in January my 87 Spector NS2 sits in its case. I feel bad that I have a killer bass that sits unplayed, but everything goes in cycles I know I will be craving the Spector sound in the future.
My Wal is a 2013 the previous owner had less than 12 hours of playing time on it, the neck felt brand new and I struggled with the playability(the Wal had high action and I like low) and the neck constantly moving, this was due to going from São Paulo to Tennessee. The neck has settled down and is playing wonderfully! I plan on taking the Wal to Nashville and having it Pleked soon.
It's great that Justin gave back the Warwick and probably a nice paycheck to continue playing the bass he loves and sounds the greatest on!

just curious....trying to find where it said he gave back the warwick..... I know he gave back the Nordy to Carey and Carey sold it to Howard, but I can't find where JC gave back the warwick.....

i did find this though of him playing the bass, which was last year....
