Wal Bass Club.

How in the #$% did that guy not send that bass without signature required?! I'm glad it got there safe, but holy moly if I'm reading it right that is a huge oversight.
Yeah, the OP really sounded like he came home to find the parcel sitting on the porch... when he actually got home to find it sitting in the living room... LOL!!!

I’m really glad that was the real situation! I would have had a minor heart attack had it been delivered without a signature required.
Yup, you and six billion other people! I still have a little inward "aargh-phew" when I get home and see an Amazon parcel with a Blu Ray in it sitting next to the front door. I can't imagine the interplanetary scale of the internal mixture of horror and relief if it was a Wal bass I'd just forked out 7 or 8 grand for!

Happened to me once.....here's my w.t.f moment. I immediately left worked and promptly let her in..... but ya drove fast and furious heading home. And yes that is how it was shipped - from Sweden too

The Wal flight cases are fabulously protective. If they used standard ATA screw/fold latches, shipping the bass in the case with no additional packaging would be no problem. Just secure the latches with cable ties. Putting it into cardboard box would be a waste of effort.

But since the Wal latches are just regular hard-case latches :poop:, yeah they should have boxed it up.

I think the "w.t.f. moment" he's referring to is that it was just left unattended on the front porch... No case in the world can protect it from being stolen.

YES. That would be the :eek: moment.

I installed a lot of surveillance cameras to help avoid the unknown about what is going on around my house. A package left on my front porch is watched by up to 5 cameras (depending on where it's been placed), and you can't avoid not being seen if you step foot over the property line. I'm thankful that, so far, in my fairly quiet neighborhood I haven't detected anyone that appears to be looking for packages. The only porch pirates I've caught are cats, possums, and a racoon, and at least those critters help clean up around my yard.

lol same....perhaps he was looking for Wals

:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

Love it! The possums and raccoon have been cleaning up the fallen dates from the palm trees one meal at a time. The neighbor’s cat just chased a rat into and out of my yard. He was this - close to catching it while in view of the camera. Never would have known what goes on around my house at night while we’re sleeping until I installed the cameras. :laugh:

these kinds are his typical stock. he'll ask what gauges you prefer before he strings it up.

shopping

if you prefer a different brand, you can always ask or ship him a set that you prefer too.

Thanks for that, haven’t been in contact or seen Paul for a few years, other than an email to him last week. Shame he switched from Picato as their great strings, but everyone has their individual preference anyway.

I’m getting some quotes off Paul for a few ideas I have, to see which is the most workable, with regard to cost. I can’t put an order in until early next year, but want to get an idea on the cost of the specs that I want. I’m sure the cost will go up at some point again next year, but that’s the risk and gamble we all take. It will be my first Wal since October 1996!
