also...if you plan on getting over 5k for this bass you will need some high quality close up pics on evil bay to show ANY light/heavy scratches dings etc that may or may not be there. Those "phone" quality pics just wont do it.

Close ups and such will get potential buyers more interested, especially knowing exactly what excellent shape means with minimal player wear. Close ups of EVERYTHING from hardware to the aforementioned wear, especially with that asking price is typically a given.

I can't say that asking price is out of reach since the neck is a little rare, but ya

If your trying to fund a new custom Wal I say keep it and place your deposit of £500. It's a long 19 month wait anyways. Sell it when it's half way complete is my 2 cents!

I'm interested in obtaining a Wall and have been looking at this one but I have to wonder why this particular bass is changing hands so often,,

Are there any issues with it that are not mentioned in the listing ?

Can perhaps any former owners chime in on this one ??

Sounded pretty sweet in Jaymi's video, but I can't really say.

If you haven't checked it out it's a couple posts up. Different strokes for different folks is what comes to mind.

Thanks for the tips and insight. The bass plays amazingly, and I am still on the fence. Hence the 6k price tag. It is a bit of change, as far as the play wear scenario. The only markings is a buckle scratch in the finish on the back of the bass. Otherwise it is in phenominal shape.

There is a lot of hype and mystique surrounding these. They are great basses, and a lot of times not easy to come by...for me, I have had 6 and there was one that was a shining moment and the others were not that spectacular for me. I dearly miss my first one (which was an 84) and hindsight being what it is, I should have kept it years ago but since it is gone, it is very hard to find one that does what that one did...the bar was set high!!!

My experience with these basses and how consistent sounding the electronics are on these (even comparing MKI's with MKII's side by side).....there is a VERY small eq adjustment between basses to get the EXACT same sound and or tone out of them.....

I was wondering what your personal criteria the other 5 basses didnt have, that they couldnt compare to the "high bar" setting of your 1984 MKI?

Please dont say sound...i have tricked 2 recording engineers by sending them audio that i have recorded.....and they think its my MKII (cause they liked the "sound" of that one better)....when they tell me i couldnt have done a better job on giving them "what they wanted"....thats when i tell them it was a different bass!

Just to prove a point to them.

With 7 that have passed through my home, the biggest variances have been the setup. I got a couple where the pickups had been cranked all the way down into the body, and others trim and pole adjustments set all over the place, one was so boomy it lacked high end.
