Now I can answer because I officially sold my 1998 Wal MK2 5 string.
It's headed to a really nice guy in Finland. I sold to him because he always wanted a Wal.
The exact buyer I was looking for.

I replaced my two electrolytic capacitors years ago, but this is the very first time I've ever heard about any resistors needing to be replaced. Do those resistors drift out of spec, or is it just because of damage from all of the green corrosion? I had no corrosion on my boards when I replaced the caps, I just did it because the bass was getting up in age (1985 MkI).

No drift, but they can crack at the legs or crumble.

I really thought after my first wal I’d be complete but it just made me want more!

I have never owned, or even been in the same room as (unless you count an arena with Tool playing) a Wal... But they definitely seem to be discussed in the same way that I hear people discuss tattoos! Once you get one, you just gotta get another...?
A dream bass of mine is a Wal Mk1.
