ok looks like you have got a new bass. That lacquer finish looks great on your bass. Love the dark brown color.

Yikes, any experience ordering directly? I’d opt for a direct bank transfer but would the bank convert dollars to pounds?

I asked for their account info Saturday but I explained I’m new to the process and they haven’t gotten back to me and I don’t wanna blow them up

Yes your bank will convert the pounds to dollars, and they'll charge you all the associated fees for sending a bank wire transfer.

As for ordering, you do know it's a 30 month wait now?

Hey, do you mind asking how long it took and how much it cost? I wouldn't mind getting my 1990 a bit of a tune up.

It cost me a lot of money but it was worthed and it depends what work needs to be done on the bass. A refret and fingerboard dressing or an electronics service is one thing and a refenish is another. It is always best to Email Paul at Wal for a quote.

I probably don't need to go that far, then. There's nothing wrong with it, I recapped it, a few years ago, and surprisingly, I have very little fret wear, too. Thanks.

I have never owned, or even been in the same room as (unless you count an arena with Tool playing) a Wal... But they definitely seem to be discussed in the same way that I hear people discuss tattoos! Once you get one, you just gotta get another...?
A dream bass of mine is a Wal Mk1.

Your particular boards will also have the five tiny gray/orange-tip resistors that will also need changing. They're very tightly positioned to work with, and "okay" solder skills is making me think twice about a DIY recommendation.

I replaced my two electrolytic capacitors years ago, but this is the very first time I've ever heard about any resistors needing to be replaced. Do those resistors drift out of spec, or is it just because of damage from all of the green corrosion? I had no corrosion on my boards when I replaced the caps, I just did it because the bass was getting up in age (1985 MkI).
