HAHA!....i knew i saw the "slap guard" MKI before. Seems this guy built a Wal clone while owning the "plexi"

If anyone has been following the fiasco on the thread "I won the Wal pick up on Ebay" and is tired with the obvious BS'ing, you may want to ask this guy where he got the electronics from!!

:hyper:

Awesome congrats!!! Great too see that Wal passed on to a fellow TB'er!!! :bassist:

Thanks. It's a phantastic instrument. A bit on the heavy side for my shoulder, but the sound makes you forget the pain. Thor's hammer, I tell you!

Now all YOU need is a fretless :D

Yep. I know. Actually, I've always wanted a Wal fretless because of the sound, long before I was looking at fretted Wal's. But then came along this absolutely gorgeus Geddy Lee MkII, and fretted is what I play most. Plus Mike kept whispering in my ears that I should get a Wal...

Oli got a very awesome Wal! :bassist:

And yeah, I already asked him if he has #3 picked out yet...his response, "a fretless". :D

These things are too addictive I tell ya!

Indeed, yet I'm happy you infected me... I can imagine these instruments are not for everybody, and some might not get along with the electronics at all. But they fit me like a glove.

Thus, this addiction also has the power to cure quite some other GAS! That's what I call "money well spent" :p

I just had to chuckle about this a bit..... I'd have to say perhaps you should get that checked out  lol :D

j/k!!! Are any of the ones you have ebony boards?Ebony boards are a completely different animal. I was trying out a couple things with my 5er and fretless and the feel and the tone is just unreal. By all means its phenomenal - just feels like such a jump when I've been playing my RW necks a majority of the time.

Fretless baby!!!! :bassist:

Both are ebony. I was specifically looking to get ones with ebony fretboards, because I found out that I really preferred it on other instruments. To me, the ebony board brings more definition and clarity than rosewood, but is a little less snappy and more "even" than maple. That's at least my perception. YMMV.

This thread needs more pics! :D

Ahem...NBD. :bassist:
It's a very early 'new run' from Paul. This and Martin Kemp's MkII were the first two completed.
