Ummm....most if not all of the Wals on site were customers custom orders or ones they have already sold
I believe Oli is correct, Mike had mentioned that it was one of the basses in the Wal gallery to me the other day while he was waiting for its arrival. Good eye

I can rejoin the club as of this weekend! Made a trade for a 1981 Wal Custom bass - transition period with multi-lam (7? 9?) body older paddle headstock, newer 4 knob config and European Ash facings. Pics to come!
Yeah, turns out that it is featured in several places on the Wal site: the models page, and a couple in the gallery.
Compares right on par with the others. The thin satin neck finish is something to get used to, but tone is consistant with my other shedua MkII.
The neck is terrific. It is a thin V just like on the violet MkI I had last year, which is what I was hoping it would be.
You have a beautiful Wal! Saw pictures of this one somewhere...maybe basschatUK...really like it.
Magnificent man, great catch!!! It looks flawless. The MkI I have was a bit of a sacrifice, in that I am traditionally a 5 string player exclusively. I just got the MkI back from the shop. The input jack is fixed the bass is back in action! I will definitely be working on some sound clips, and hopefully the long weekend will allow for me to get that put together for everyone.
They are great basses really with lots of character, still very versatile. You don't get that too often these days. Most basses are either characteristic one trick ponys or versatile but meh/sterile.
What i love about them is that the strings all sound very different, it's not just the difference in boomyness vs. singing, the actual sound is different. I guess not everyone likes that, but i absolutely do.

Excellent point and very true. Alot of people dont know this, as i didnt until i bought one and started "muckin'" with set-ups.
A great example of your statement is JC himself.....before i got a Wal i always wondered why he was playing stuff so far up the neck on the E string, when the note(s) could have been easily dropped to another string.....Top string is way more "chirpy/growl" than the others. I found this to be true on both my MKI and MKII and they were 21 years apart on the build date!!
Does anyone know where I can find some of the knob position studs? My bass is missing a couple.

Only from Wal. Except the new ones are going to be smaller in diameter, in both the top dome and the stem. So you'll probably have to dowel the hole and redrill. I went through that with my first one.

Also, the XLR jack has been disconnected in my bass- has anyone had to reconnect one of these before, or is there a scematic for where each wire hooks up? Even a picture of a control cavity clearly showing where things go would be appreciated!
