Wal Bass Club.

Mr Bart Funk Bass put together a video showing Flea's Mk2.

Cool video, what great tone he got, love hearing that fret noise Flea was getting (starting around the 2:07 mark), I get a little fret buzz/noise on my MK1, can't hear it through the amp, never really worried too much about it, now I clearly won't worry about it.

That's what it's all about! It greatly adds to the Wal "Grunt/Growl"!

What about bassballs27 Mk3 6-banger that he mentioned a few posts back?

For Trade - Wal MK3 6 string - Birdseye Maple Facings

Yes, I have gone back and forth with Chris about this one three times now.... he offered to sell it to me for 9k but then backs out. I even went as far as getting a loan from the bank. The funds are ready to go into his account but he then changes the listing to “Trade Only” and leaves our conversation where we were communicating about the bass. This has happened three times now. He is “baiting” me, trying to get me to trade a four string for it. My hope is that someone else may know of one....if not, I will wait for the next available one. Thank you to those willing to help.

Did everyone see the price increase? yikes!!! Mk 2 and 3 four string from £6350 to £6950:eek::eek::eek:
True but as a bit of price comparison...

...so, I guess when it comes to hand built, luthier level basses, you pays your money and you takes your choice!

That does put it in perspective Trevor paying those prices for a CNC built Warwick! I don't know if the Fender Masterbuilt is CNC. I would like to think at those prices, the basses in that line are marketed being built by one master luthier would mostly be handmade. I do own a Wal and a Fodera to me they are worth the price both charge!

Yep - i own two Custom Shop Fenders - and two of the German "ltd ed" Warwicks - the difference between those (and many other brands) IMO ..is the resale. Not sure WHO buys these brand new - but no way i would. The hit is far too great when selling. A couple Custom Shop Fenders are in the Classifieds here for 4-5K, and haven't moved in months - Warwicks 2-3K, struggling to move. Put a Wal up for 5K, and if it lasts longer than 4 hours, id be shocked. I put a mental block of spending more than 3K on a Pbass..regardless of brand or how nice...just doesnt make sense when the electronics are basic. Wal electronics are prob worth more than 3K IF they ever were available.
Handmade vs 'partially handmade' or CNC made.....time is money and i would bet each Wal has far more labour per unit than any of the others.
"Ya wanna play?, ya gotta pay". (my old mans' words of wisdom in life) - the 'toys' - sleds, atv's, boats, side-by-sides etc. so...you wanna have fun and enjoy this one life we get - ya gotta work your a$$ off to pay for this stuff. This leads to another thing - - try reselling ANY of those and get more than half the new value - good luck..no matter HOW perfect it still is.
