That is the exact mentality. Well said. It's very sad. I have not yet encountered a Wal owner that doesn't exhibit pride in their ownership of a Wal. It's not cool to attack people that feel honored to own a well built and special instrument over used Wal prices.

I bought my Mk1 a year ago for 3900 euro. Just two weeks ago I could have bought a 5 string Mk2 for 3500 euro if I wanted. Both in excellent condition. There are still some good deals to be found if you are lucky and not in a hurry.

I was one of those people who scoffed at new Wal owners who paid high prices ($8500 for a used Mk1 I hadn't seen before then) and now they have eclipsed the price of my brand new Mk2 that I just finished paying off this March. Really strange times indeed. Whoever I scoffed at can now laugh at me as they acquired a great bass for such a steal of a price. Glad I bought when I did. At the time I thought THAT was expensive.

Meanwhile, I'm still considering ordering a new Mk2... Another trip to London once all this blows over does sound excellent.

@nibs208 You can also PM me if you're interested in joining the group of people who have deleted FB entirely with all personal data removed. Actually, that's not a real group, so don't PM me, but it's great that we have choices these days.
