I’ve been very fortunate to have owned this bad boy for a good amount of time.

Nice! I couldn't see the "transparent blue" until looking at the edges. I am thinking of blue for my build, I guess to really get a "blue" body one would need to get something like birdseye maple?

Almost has a purple hue to this one, but if bet you could get a different shade of blue.

I’ve been very fortunate to have owned this bad boy for a good amount of time.
This bass, which I still call “Gmork”, was mine back in January 2019 bought from the original owner.

Unfortunately I’m not playing much at all as lots has changed in my life since purchasing and it’s the one bass I’ve held onto. This bass offers intrinsic value to my life, even though ownership is extrinsic. I owned a 1988 MK2 5 which lives in Switzerland that was my former favourite Wal which I had the pleasure of owning for 5 years. This one, won the battle in the end. It’s tough to think of parting with this one, but I’m always into trying new basses and my financial investment in instruments had dwindled dramatically. It’s a curse to have a need to try new stuff but I’ve learned a lot about instruments (repairs, construction, issues, etc). It’s been fun.

I’ve got a brand new custom Olinto 4J being built for me that is due for shipment any minute now. And I just decided to buy another instrument (not an Wal) over the past week as a bit distraction / fill the need for trying something new.

Anyway, hoping the Wal
Club is still happy and healthy.
Is Paul still holding new orders into the foreseeable future?

Yeah, selling to buy what? :) And with such inflated prices so when you sell, would you ever be able to buy it back again? For me, not happening.

Even worse is the price of everything is through the roof so what is money really worth? What’s the price of something you can’t buy? A lot!

I know this Wall is awesome. It’s got the right weight and has my favourite out all the others. Selling wouldn’t be my thing though. Trades are much more fun. Many know the other brands that interest me, but it would be tough letting this one go. It’s the one bass I’ve kept for awhile now.

I placed my deposit in Oct 2020 and hopefully will receive the email to pick facings in the next few months. Currently brainstorming ideas. My latest one is Geddy MK2 inspired, but in a MK3 shape and red matching headstock instead of gloss black. I don’t have the gloss black neck and skunk stripe in my deposit specs. I’m hoping Paul will allow the add ons if I decide to go this route.

Very cool top finish! I see an alien holding up his arms at the left side. His head near the neck pickup. The legs are also there :)
