Yeah mate they are all Wenge facings. And yep it will be a 6 string hence the large black out at the neck.3
Is that wenge? Six string?
This insanely priced MK1 is still for grabs. 17.500 euro! What is that guy thinking? Maybe inspired by Rush song Big Money? Wal MK-1 Mark 1 - 4 string 1984 Gloss Black | Reverb

Without all the black outs for the pickups and neck 3 was a clear winner for sure. So cool but I don't like that the pickups will cover up the 'eyes" on the top. After a lot of thinking about it I chose 2. Mainly because i love the mixture of different styles of grain and how it all moves around. The two horns look the most interesting as well. Each top was killer though.
Yes, there's a straightforward explanation for that particular phraseology…Wal Mk1 Pro (till '86)? That's a bit odd description isn't it? Why the Pro?

Cheers! very excited! It will be fretted as fretless skills have so far eluded me lol. The bass in my avatar I built and its called Walwannbe and it pays homage to a Wal (multicoils, filter pre) and as lovely as it is it's no Wal.Good choice. If I look at it now, option 2 is the nicest indeed. Will it be fretless. You also have fretted 6 in your avatar? I bet a wenge 6 will be fairly heavy? Wenge is a bit more heavy wood I think...
Someone's new build mustn't be far off?Balance is the biggest key.
My 91 Mk2 5 has a solid maple body, it was 11.7 lbs, and was rather headstock heavy. I put the new Schaller light tuners, and not only did it bring the weight 'down' to 11.0 lbs, it relieved the headstock wanting to dive and it stays angled upward without having to hold it up.
We play 3 and sometimes 4 hour nights and with excellent balance I don't feel any of it.
Wish I could join the club , played one once whilst in Ireland.........does that count ?
