Morning everyone!
How about we start off the day with some Wal pictures…
My new 2020 Wal MK2 Fretless 5 string!!!
Walnut facings, Satin Finish, and edge markings! Love it! Brings me back to my first ever Wal experience which was a 1987 Wal MK2 fretless conversion.
Special thanks to Dyerseve14 as we worked together to bring this over to North America.
Most interesting feature is that the front facing has "eyes" or "knots" similar to my former Wal MK2 5er I called "Gmork".

It was time for another Wal bass video. Using a three finger technique here. Still love my fretted shedua Mk1! Love the sound....Using bridge pickup only. For the slapping I used the neck pickup also.
So nice to hear/see a fretted Wal not being used to cop a Justin Chancellor tone.

Haha....For me this is the Wal sound. Bridge pickup on full. I am not interested in the Justin Chancellor tone myself. But everybody's taste is different of course. Good that we have all the options.
Awesome as usual Barend! I really need to turn my bridge pickup off and try that more, I'm irritated with myself for having that sound available but not making the effort to explore the entire gamut of Wal sound (I came from a "different taste but not Chancellor" direction). My new build is being shipped in fretless configuration, and bridge-only is where I'll be starting on it.
Mk1, expected in a couple of months I think. It's going to be blue! I don't want to risk an off-topic strike, I come from the Ged Wal direction.
I ordered a Mk1, also in blue! ordered Oct 2020, overdue at this point.

A blueburst Wal sounds lovely. Anyone got pics of a blue Wal to share?
