Thanks! Yes you are correct, three fingers, thumb, index and middle. No double thumb as someone else said. I also add my ring finger a lot making it four fingers. Although not in this video.
Could be anything: human error while QC'ing multiple basses at a time? Dealer switched necks at the store? Wal switched during a return service?
Over the years this isn't the first time I've seen a mismatch. This is probably the 3rd very random one. The others I've seen had a note scribbled on the control plate showing a change. I've seen 2 that Pete put PB plates on during a major overhaul, but for what reason doesn't make sense.
You should send a message with pics to Paul and see if he can check the record detail in the book see if anything was noted.

thanks for your detailed reply Mike. I think I will just accept that it is just one of those things that happens sometimes. I would email Wal but given that both of my previous emails to them have both been unanswered(sent months ago), I dont think I shall bother banging my head against that particular brick wall again.

On the way home from picking it up in Seattle, I discovered that apparently every CBSA agent is a Rush fan. A wonderfully Canadian experience. At least the horrifying tax bill came with a great story!

I live up in Vancouver, BC. It's this bass, but we felt more comfortable shipping it within the lower 48 to family in Seattle. I thought about it... but this was a quick mission-based overnight trip... had to turn and burn. We're down there several times a year. I'll hit you up for sure! I would *love* to try one of your 5-strings!
