Wal Bass Club.

Hi Folks. The bridge on my Wal does some kind of rattle, I think it's the saddles. It appears when the string is hit a bit harder. Does anybody know about that issue?

Rattly saddles have been posted about a few times in this thread.
Most of the ones that did it on mine were the lower square block. Too much side to side movement. So I took out the offending block and made a tiny gasket out of either thick tape or felt sticker, stick to the side of the block...nice and tight stopped it.

Only one time I had a rattly upper saddle. Removing the saddle and allen screws, I dropped in a tiny bit of glue to make like a sort of 'cartilage' so the round headed allen screw were no longer sloppy. Let dry a couple days before reassembling.

W4368 arrived mid day Tuesday. Gave it the requisite time to adjust to its new climate and finally played it in (quietly!) at 2am. Unboxing video here for those who enjoy that kind of thing.

I have to say it's a real treat. I've only been able to put a few hours into playing and do not yet have a grasp of how to fluidly command the electronics but the construction quality is way beyond any other bass I've owned by leaps and bounds. Looks amazing, sounds amazing, plays incredibly!

Here's my timeline:

Build
04/21 - Initial deposit made, initial specs discussed
06/24 - Second deposit, finalized specs, pricing locked in
07/24 - Facings chosen
12/24 - Balance of build cost paid
05/25 - Build completed

Delivery
05/06/25 - Received by Fedex
05/08/25 - Customs begins
05/20/25 - Customs release timestamp
05/22/25 - Arrived at my local Fedex site
05/23/25 - Attempted delivery (no one home)
05/27/25 - Successful delivery

More content to come, will be recording some stuff with it once I get a little more comfortable on the instrument but what a thrill to finally have this bass in my studio!

Got my Bass last week! Decided to enjoy it for a bit before posting online. Gigged it yesterday too.

So here it is! A 2001 Mk3 fretless 5 that was owned by one person until today. Mahogany with Shedua facings. I saw this on an old Wal page as the owner personally picked this up from Pete and posted a few photos way back when. My mk2 5 prototype that our dear @mikeswals sold me has an equally beautiful friend. I just need to get some different strings on there. The DR’s are not doing it for me. I’ll take more photos sometime soon.
