ok ..book me in please.:bassist:

this is acctually my second wal.... i sold the first in a moment of madness during the 90s.:(

Are you from Cebu? I believe this is the first WAL here (in pinas). I would really love to try it out if I ever visit Cebu.

I'm having a lot of fun finding what, to me, are the classic Wal sounds with this thing. So far I'm really liking the tone with both pickups full on, the neck pu filter all the way open, and the bridge filter rolled back to 8 and popped out. Just a good aggressive rockin fingerstyle tone with some grunt and grind.

Also liking the blend favoring the bridge pickup by about 50%, with the neck pickup filter rolled down to about 2 or 3 with the knob popped out, and the bridge filter wide open. Gives me a good growly biting bridge pickup sound with a little extra meat to it.

I'm not sure I'm liking the pick attack tones too much, kinda gives it an overhyped Stingray type tone to my ears.

Here's another picture taken around 1am when I finally got around to putting it away. my right hand callouses are RAW this morning because this tone just begs you to dig in.
Would y'all mind sharing some of your preferred tone settings?

I´ve recently done my first recording with my Wal.
Looking for an aggressive fingerstyle tone:

- Volume @ full
- Balance @ center
- Both pickups @ full and pulled

R.Cocco nickel strings.

I got this result:

For me the magic happens around the 4 area on the tone....

It seems the wal is a bass with manual wah peddles hard wired to each pickup. ...you just need to find the sweet spots to suit your taste.

Very cool. I wasn't sure if anything was really supposed to happen if I pulled up the knobs with the tone wide open since its not really filtering anything (and popping the knobs adds a resonant peak at the filter cutoff). But it sounds like it definitely adds some bite.

So you're not using the pick attack on the volume knob there, correct?

Great aggressive nasty tone!

Yep and that's definitely part of the fun. Adding a little booty at the filter cutoff points then bringing back a little attack with the pick attack feature. Its quite mesmarizing.

Bass42, your markII five, what is the top on that? Its killer!
