Wal Bass Club.

Wow Bass42. Those are hot basses. Some great examples of the variations available. Are you able to please describe any differences between the MKII 4 and MKIII 4 in terms of tone? Do the quite different finishes and subtly different body shapes have much influence over the tone?

I'm umming are arring over these two models, woods, finish, etc. Both models have beautiful body shape but as mentioned above, I too prefer the iconic Wal 4 string headstock.

Cheers!

I think MKIII Is the evolution of WAL basses, perfect body balance and more "modern" look. About sound, I'm really prefer MKII tone and punch... I'm a MKII'er !

Marcos,

Two of my Wals are 20+ years-young and the gold hardware is still as new.

Best....

I can't speak for others, but Gold Wal Hardwares isn't " time proof" , my Geddy's MKII have a very "weathered' gold hardware ! The bass looks mint, but the hardware looks really older than the bass !

first time I've seen gloss on shedua. that's mighty hot! thanks for sharing!

That's because I made a mistake with the wood name (non native non woodworker... sorry) my bad. :scowl:
It's gloss over sycamore.

Fascinating! Thanks for showing! Now that's an idea for a new one...
How does it wear down. Does it get glossy over time?

Wow! Blocks! And that MkIII looks sporty & sexy... very agile, with that stealth black neck...

good lord bass42! that's a heck of a crowd. first live show with my wal will be 5/11, and it will be in the worlds smallest 2nd story charleston bar. hopefully people will be able to see me around the support column.

by the way bass42, after you posted those shots I had to check out your band on YouTube. you are a monster of a funk player! wish I understood Portuguese!

Hi Guys,

I´ve just discovered who is Bass 42 in the real life!

All I can say is he´s one the best musicians I know. A hell of a bass player in one the the biggest bands in Brazil. I´m a huge fan.

Congrats man.

When I collected my MK III last year, Paul told me about you and asked me if I knew you...

Guess we are the only Wallers in Brazil!

You´ve got a beautiful Wal family!

Here´s a pic of my MK III ´12 in a small gig with my Rush tribute band in Sao Paulo (stageleftband.com)

Best

Marcos

Awesome action shots guys with your Wals, i'm afraid i just got my one lousy back yard bbq jam shot last year in my profile not worth posting up on the thread. :hiding:

btw Caca, why is your drummer giving a molesting look to his drums? :eyebrow: lol j/k the face he's giving reminds me of the old guy in "the family guy" (not really a watcher but tend to catch glimpse when the sibs watch it)
