ya, i would think that would be the case. alot of times its set it and forget kinda deal. one thing Paul mentioned to me once was "apply some very thin oil down the hex hole - just be careful to use a good quality new hex key and make sure its fully engaged before any adjustment."
anyhu... ya, perhaps the previous owner dry docked it with a worn stubby.

For any on the fence for a new custom build you definitely get what you pay for- got to plug in tonight and hands done the best tone, playability and craftsmanship I've ever experienced in a bass- and I've played a ton over the years! Such an inspiring to play bass too- that's how I can tell the good ones when you just don't want to put it down! So happy to be a Wal'er! Now to just save up for a fretless...!

Yes it has a satin neck which for my sweaty hands I prefer- I know there was some discussion in another thread of satin vs gloss and for me I feel the satin offers superior playability and performance, especially on a large 24 fret neck where even the upper registers are playable! (did I mention I love this Wal?!) I will say I've owned many gloss neck basses and guitars and while they look nice they would start to stick up on me mid-show and the constant wipe down got annoying. While my touring days are over the feel of satin is still my favorite if I had to choose- like a well loved, worn in instrument!
