Want to replace individual stomps with mulit-effects

You could probably get a decent lighter fuzz out of an M9, I've gotten some solid OD/Fuzz out of the M9. But the one fail on the M9/M13 for me is that on the OD/Distortion/Fuzz patches, there is not a Mix knob, so I can't blend back my clean signal. This is to me useless if I can't dial the clean tone in and mix b/c I am widya there too - I love the sound of my rig. So hence an OD with a clean blend of some kind.

I understand. I do the mix with chorus/flange/octaver. But the Humphrey Audio Badder Bass Monkey is a straight up modded overdrive, so I've never gotten used to mix my overdrive, like you have.

Anyone like to buy some pedals so I can afford the M9?

(I know-Wrong board-I'm keeping them, anyway)

I run the DI straight out the front of my Hartke LH1000, but it is a good point.

Still thinking about the M9, but I can get an Bass Pod XT LIVE for less than half of that. Considering how few effects I actually use, and the amount of money I WANT to spend, I have to consider that one.

All depends on how easy it is to use onstage. I'm sure I could get sounds out of almost all of the nicer multi's that would satisfy me in a live situation.

Gotta run for a few. Check back in when I get back.

Someone please describe what's so bad about a Line 6 XT LIVE? I know they quit making it for some reason.

I know it's got a lot of amp modeling that I won't use, but if it has the stuff I DO need, and it's operable onstage..............
I'm about cross-eyed from reading user manual pdf's. :eyebrow:

There are several for sale by fellow TB'ers and other places at what I would call very fair prices. As cheap or cheaper than ME-50b's.

I wish I could hear a GOOD bass demo of the M9. Most are guitars demo's, and a couple of undistinguished bass demo's on YouTube.

I use it for DI, vol pedal, tuner, some compression, a little gritty dirty stuff and some nice smooth chorus stuff.

For me, very versatile.

Two downsides. First you'll need to purchase the Bass model pack - I'm assuming that you're talking about getting the guitar version. Then you'll probably want the Effects Junkie pack. So those will push up your final price. The other major downside is that you're limited to the order of effects and can only choose one effect in each slot. With the M9/M13 you can run a compressor into a compressor into a compressor if you want.

You can probably save a few bucks buying an XT Live but I think you'll be much happier with an M9 or M13 as an effects unit. I've owned all of them.

I worry a little about old electronics. This one's a few models old, isn't it? Any drawbacks, from anyone with experience with it? Reliable, easy to use?

If I could try out a MP-9 or a MP-13, and then find one at a reasonable price, I think I would jump on that. But I haven't seen one less than about $325, and I'd hate to sink that into it, not know if I'm going to like it or not.

ME-50 or the B9, or even a GT-6b are still in the running. The right price on one of these might motivate me. But I still agree with those that suggest the M series stomp modelers. Thanks so much, guys. CD

I Own an ME-50B and it does everything that was mentioned and a little more.. :bassist:

Like I said earlier, I sold my BOD XT Live largely because of the amp modelling. It really affected the tone even with it turned off on a patch. And it takes a lot of time to set up a patch you like and requires lots of tweaking. I would spend alot of time getting a patch set up the way I like it and then go to play with the band and it would sound entirely different. The volume between patches was a problem for me too. It gave me issues recording to my laptop too (not that you may care about that). Now, there were some nice features as well.

So, in a nutshell, it isnt a plug and play device IMO and became a hassle for me. However, I think the M9 might be what I would like to get though because Im only interested in the effects.
