I have friends in several of the local PD's. The first couple days after I heard several low opinions from cops, but then all of a sudden the chief told them it was no longer a topic of conversation and any inquiries about it should be referred to the department public info officer.

Scuttlebutt says there is going to be some bloodletting and heads rolling over it.

Just doing my part to stay in step with modern journalism. :D

There were over 250 taxpayer supported people and around 100 tax payer owned vehicles involved for more than 8 hours.

It would have been the perfect time to rob a bank...or bring in a massive load of dope. A flatbed truck could have driven by the place loaded down with bales of pot and no one would have noticed.

Those in favor of marijuana use will claim that the only thing wrong with it is the laws against it, and it is the very substance which could cure all diseases, fix the economy, and reverse global warming.
Those against it will point out that medical marijuana laws increased crime in CA, because the gangs started competing for a shrinking market, and concentrating on harder drugs. They can point out that there currently are no unbiased studies because as a schedule one intoxicant, it is against federal law to spend taxpayer money on studies.

People will read the "facts" that they want to believe, and rationalize how they are absolute, and not subject to interpretation or manipulation.

Ha, that was the rate the growers were giving the out of staters. Im sure by the time it got where it was going ti was marked up 300%.
The summer before that you were looking at $3-4k depending on whether it was grown indoors or out.
Things changed real quick when the collectives that were buying it decided it wasnt worth the extra $1000 to buy the indoor grown stuff.
The growers ended up with a surplus, and started selling it to East Coasters for $1200 - 1500 a pound.
