Another vote for the Orange, love mine, very tubey and "vintage" - that's the exact tone i want and it takes me all of 10 seconds to dial it in if i need to (knobs get bumped or I change basses or something)I have an orange terror bass 500 that I really like. It sounds nice and warm without the gain. I basically stopped using my mesa m3 carbine after I bought the orange. The terror bass 500 is right around $500 used.
Responses!
We are a small 60 person church. There is no pa support for bass. Thankfully I have one of my Fearful 12/6 which drops the mighty hammer of bass to all corners of church. Can't stop that thing at all.
I know people get very sensitive about prices of stuff but what would be a good price for a TH 500 or GB streamliner 900?
I hate pedals! Sorry but I said it. I am probably a stupid head missing out on a larger world but I am an average trying to get better. I use to spend a lot of time fooling with pedals to "sound better" when i should have been using that time to actually learn how to play. I know most people don't do this! When I get better I may get some pedals but for now, no.
Thanks dudes!
Hi all,
I recently bought a GK MB500 for use at my church. I really like it but when I used my mesa d800 there were lots of happy comments about the tone. Now it seems not so much. The GK works fine but lacks that warm tone. I am looking to replace it with something more tube sounding as I feel that is what the music director and congregation want.
That being said I would love some inexpensive (under 500 used) suggestions as to what I could get that would get me a warm sound.
