Thanks. I was told I have “interior decorator” talent when it comes to color and aesthetics in guitars and motorcycles. I used to do motorcycle makeovers for myself. I’d buy a motorcycle and over a 1 to 2 year period transform it to a look a bit classic but somewhat unique and eye-catching.

Allow me to clarify that I would design the look I wanted for the motorcycle, do what I was capable of and contract the rest of it.

One other quick story. A friend had EBMM Stingray from the 90s. It was a bright red with a white pickguard, with a dark maple fretboard and chrome hardware.

He asked if I would paint it black because he really didn’t like the way it looked.
After he showed it to me I told him that if he would let me do a makeover and if he liked it he could pay me. If not I would eat the cost and redo it his way.
The bass didn’t need a paint job. The red was beautiful. I ordered a solid matte black pickguard, mounted it with black screws, ordered black tuners, bridge, string retainer, knobs, neck plate and strap buttons.
He loved it and to be honest I would have bought it from him in an instant.

Sorry, I got a bit carried away.

Even though it's not a Warmoth, I'd still say pics are in order.

Just finished putting together this all Warmoth ‘54 P Bass. Paid an extra $40 for an extra light weight body. Total weight comes to 8.5 lbs. Probably would go below 8 with a slim profile neck with graphite rods. But I like the feel of the regular profile neck. No dead spots with the steel stiffening rods on this one. Trying out several different ’51 pickups. Single coils are just too noisy for me even when I prefer the tone over others. Waiting on a Nordstrand 51P4S hum cancelling. Thinking it will be the winner.

I was very impressed with the quality of clear on my body. Yours looks stunning as well. No doubt it’ll hold up to playing.

Did a quick mount of the Aluminati on my Warmoth Koa Jazz. Not the destination but got me excited for the project it’s going on.

I have no problem making decisions, but for some reason… the Aluminati and the Status keep getting jostled around what project they will end up on.

It looks like the 32" scale Warhead necks are pretty much the exact same price as the equivalent 34" scale Warhead necks? Am I missing something?

Are those Nordstrand blades?

I've been contemplating doing the same thing (narrow 5 conversion on a 4 string body & neck) and those pickups would be ideal, but the spacing in the bar gives me pause...

The bar is continuous, those spaces are only for the cover to have some structural integrity and not come apart in the center. Those are only small divots in the blade to make way for the plastic.
Cary had a video talking about it, but can’t find it…
