do you use the volume for dynamic control or is it just more of an all or nothing deal?

BTW do you know where to find cheap foam for pickups, it's the only thing missing for my Warmoth...

yes , waaaay more volume swells ,than a bass player should be doing It's my main control really I don't think I could do without a volume knob on the instrument , however all others are not needed , for me anyway .

I've thought about this- doing a P/J with blend knob, front-mounted jack and a Stellartone Tonestyler, and a killswitch. I don't really ever use the volume anywhere between 0 and 10. All or nothing, baby

I pulled the trigger on a Deluxe 5 P Bass body yesterday. I ordered it with a P Bass route (I have a Bill Lawrence P-46 to go there) and I'm going to have a local shop route for a Bill Lawrence Roscoe Beck 5 string humbucker in the bridge position.

I'm going to put a series/parallel switch on the RB pickup and I have a Bass Mods 2 band pre (Vol, Bal, Bass/Treble stack) I'm gonna try out.

I'm going to try my hand at finishing it myself..... some sort of burst.

I have all gold hardware..... but I have to get into a new house before I can do the finishing..... so maybe a three month wait

There is a possibility that I may wire the two pickups together in parallel, not have a blend or balance of any kind and use the series/parallel switch on the RB pickup for a sort of tone mod. I always seem to run any two pickup Bass with both pickups on full and (if active) the tone on flat or centered. I'll be able to try the Bass Mods pre in bypass and see if I like it that way before I commit.

That actually sounds like a pretty clean setup.
Steve Bailey uses a kill switch on his basses, but he uses volume controls too. He just uses the kill switch as a mute so he can keep all his settings on the bass.

I wonder why kill switches haven't become more popular.

Instead of putting a tone pot inside the cavity, you could replace it with a simple 250K or 500K resistor. That would have the same effect as a tone pot that's always fully on, and could get rid of the extended highs for you.

That could be a great way to go , I'll be using a 250k pot ,does it also need the cap ? Do you have a diagram for this by chance . Thank you
