warmoth short scale bass..?

just went to the showcase on the Warmoth site and saw the warhead series, short and medium scale! I am excited
They just announced them on their forum yesterday (Friday):

So far, they only show up in the showcase, but they said in the forum you can custom order by calling:

We've got a dozen plus bodies and necks in the Showcase right now. If you don't see what you want, we can start from scratch. Pricing is the same as our 34" scale parts.

I just called and asked about ordering a 30" scale neck with a paddlehead but I was told paddleheads weren't going to be available for the shorter scales so I ordered BN2716 with a Corian nut and 6230 frets.

the one thing im curious about is if the 32in necks will have any neck-dive. i understand that what wood is used plays a role, but warmoth necks have been said to be heavier than average. i think warmoth is better than that, but just something to think about

I've put a shortcale Mustang necks on regular P and J bodies and didn't really have to relocate the bridgeplate, just the saddles.

The bridge does not change. This is really no different than a 24 3/4" conversion neck for the guitar crew.
The bridge and neck pocket essentially remain in a fixed, known location. The neck length changes relative to these two locations to arrive at a new scale length.
I've been playing them since last fall and there are no intonation or setup issues.
To address the balance question, since the neck length is shortened, that brings the headstock and tuners in closer to the body. Much less likely to experience any neck dive.
Additionally, the 32" and 30" necks do not have the steel reinforcement rods and are predrilled for BML Lite tuners. (Including the index pins.) This also knocks a bit off of neck weight.
Any pics of a 30" and a 32" next to each other?
