Hey all. First off, thanks to everyone up to this point who has contributed in whatever way, and to those who will after I post this. The overwhelming level of support I've had has been absolutely amazing, and being honest has renewed my faith in people to be decent, because that's been severely depleted of late.

As promised, an update. As I mentioned, at his request I emailed Jon Letts with a proposal which was reasonable while not expecting anything over and above that which I'm due, in order to settle matters, and this morning I received a reply from him confirming his willingness to comply fully.

I understand there will be a lot of people out there screaming "dude, *** are you doing?!", and if I'm honest a large part of me wonders the exact same thing! All I can say is there are contributing factors which I may go into at a later date. All I can ask of those people who've supported me thus far is please, trust my reasons and judgment.

I intend to use this thread to keep everyone fully updated on future progress/events, and will endeavour to post the same level of detail as I did in my initial posts as it occurs or is required, to keep everyone properly informed on how this plays out. As you'll no doubt expect me to anyway, I will retain all correspondence and communication.

I believe Jon will grasp exactly what is at stake. He can adhere to our agreement, make good on it, and begin the first step on a path to proving he is worthy of consideration for any purchases or custom in the future.
Or he can decide not to bother and blow it again, but it will all happen under the watchful eyes of the largest online bass community.
And this time, he's starting from the bottom and building up the goodwill and faith.

Because there's no further "down" if he screws this one in public.
You’ve already tarnished his rep to the biggest online-based bass community and you think this will give him the motivation to actually come through this time? he ain’t got nothing to lose ,screwing you over one more time is not gonna be a big deal…. You say we should trust your judgement… well after giving us an in-depth of the dealings and then saying you’re gonna give it one more shot. Your judgement does not seem like something I would trust as it is lacking any common sense. Sorry dude I’m not one of those “good luck” wishing guys because everything you’ve mentioned so far it seems like you don’t have very good luck at all with this guy.

Come to think of it, I just read something interesting.

It seems there is a custom luthier that just opened shop in the UK that seems pretty promising based on his Instagram photos.

He goes by Jens Lott Basses.

Thinking of placing an order for a custom build. Any thoughts?

I agree with this in the sense of eleven years wanting and trying for a positive outcome. I have to wonder, if today, Letts handed you the perfect bass, would you love that bass? I doubt I would or could after all that. Stuff like this happens in life. My story starts at $60k USD. Thank you for the heads up though. And I gotta say - personal opinion, those are some ugly basses.
