I ran one for an hour or so at 18v when I was comparing it to the Porkloin - no issues and it definitely helped with the clipping issue i was experiencing at 9v. I also run some fairly hot basses and I can be a hard hitter.

Way huge Pork and Pickle

I ran one for an hour or so at 18v when I was comparing it to the Porkloin - no issues and it definitely helped with the clipping issue i was experiencing at 9v. I also run some fairly hot basses and I can be a hard hitter.
Haven't had a chance to try the Pork & Pickle yet... still on the fence about buying it blind because fuzz flavors vary greatly. Any advice to push me towards/away?

I caved, and bought one blind today. I’ll report back after it arrives.....
So, I’ve had my Pork & Pickle for a little while now, and I love the sound of it, but I do find it extremely noisy and prone to feeding back compared to any other distortion or fuzz I’ve ever owned.
Even with my bass muted (via a pedal tuner at the front of my signal chain), the P&P is very audibly noisy (like high gain hissing) when activated. When in use, it is extremely easy to get squeaky feedback when I’m not actively playing a note, including in between sections when I’m not playing for beat or two.
I can kind of reign it in with a Decimator (noise suppressor), but it’s tricky, and hard to predict. Getting to the point where I’m considering mothballing it for live playing because I just can’t predict whether it’s going to feedback and sound awful.
Does anybody else experience this? Any known fixes? Maybe something that needs adjusting in the internal controls?

I am not having these kinds of issues with mine, though I do keep the gain set fairly low.

Sorry, I meant "Volume." I like it Fuzz setting, with the Drive pretty high up, and (by necessity) the Volume set pretty low.
So I tried lowering the volume to the point where I'm not getting all the hiss, but I'm basically running up against a problem in which, when the volume is low enough that it isn't noisy as hell when I'm not playing, the effect is way too quiet, and when I get the volume up to the point where I can even really hear the effect, and I'm basically at or near unity with my uneffect signal, it just feeds back like crazy when I'm not playing.
I can reign it in to some extent with my noise gate, but when I combine it with a chorus, the noise gate is really clamping down way too zealously and cutting volume when it shouldn't. If I turn down the threshold on the noise gate, I get feedback from the P&P. I don't know if my P&P is broken or something or if I'm doing something to cause this issue, but it certainly is not something I experienced nearly as much with my Swollen Pickle, or other fuzz pedals previously.
I just picked up a Darkglass Alpha Omega Ultra that I'm going to swap out with the P&P for now and see if that solves the feedback issue.

I liked it -- meh, just ok. For $170, I thought it should've knocked my socks off...
LOTS of lows, almost too the the point of being too muddy? ( I can't believe I just "too muddy" )
It's cool & has some great features, but I found that I was diming the tone pot & kept looking for mids/some other knob to enhance some "cutting" frequencies. It went back. I already own other drives I like as much or more....

Wow, that would be very frustrating. I am not experiencing anything like this...
It is really frustrating. I’ve taken it off my board and replaced it with my new Darkglass Alpha Omega Ultra and my old MXR Blowtorch, although the torch isn’t working great either :/
I order a box from them every Christmas.....Probably....
So I've had a go-round with a Pork and Pickle for a couple months now and I'm a bit torn on it.
That it can be either a drive or a fuzz, but not both, is a bit frustrating, but the switch between the two being a toggle rather than a footswitch seems like a poor design choice.

Hello everyone, been looking in buying these pedal, and the demos sound good on YouTube. The headroom problem you guys have mentioned is using the pedal as a clean boost or when the pedal is off completely? I will use this pedal occasionally. Any headroom problems using the overdrive?
