WD-800 Bass and Treble corner freqs

Just wondering if anybody has any insights as to where the Mesa Boogie WD-800 bass and treble corner freqs are? I've read the manual and it only refers loosely that bass is <80hz and treble >2.5khz, but it seems like this was just a description what bass and treble freqs generally are. I was hoping for something more specific to their controls.

Even the mimeograph manuals ( I am old and have used mimeograph's -- usefull for quick gig posters) in the early days of Mesa are also comprehensive. During the rectifier era, they also added Randall Smith's White Paper on tube and tube biasing and you get an extra white paper on class A, triode and pentode operation / half power if your amp is that. on top of a very comprehensive manual. which was part prose, part technical They are long for most musicians they provided a rest break page in the middle. There was even a parts list section.

I liked Steve Rabe's SWR manuals like the one for my for my SM-400S. They had information that helped you get the most out of the products.

Mackie published a paper-bound manual (not included with the mixer) that was also a 101-level tutorial on mixing, based on their products. I think I may have a copy somewhere. I recall learning a few things there.

They and Rane both showed a great sense of humor back then while laying out lots of genuinely useful info. And Greg Mackie was a total hoot on the phone back when he was running the Tapco service portal, which was more like mid eighties.

I also enjoyed the humor that was subtly inserted in various places. Those were great manuals, and outstanding powered mixers!!
 
After all these decades of being generally uninformed, I hate to have to ask you this… What is Knee?
The knee is also called the "break point" or "corner", it's where the curve transitions from flat to the rolloff slope. On a Baxandall type shelving filter with variable cut-boost, generally choosing the point that the filter cuts/boosts an octave away from the knee is the most useful description. In this case, an octave from the knee is "most" of what you hear as cut-boost. The boost-cut slope is ~6dB/octave.

Thanks much for this info. Just a couple of questions. Does this only apply to the Bass and Treble control, and not parametric midrange controls? Secondly with regard to the knee of the the bass and treble knobs, and what point of the dial is the knee found? 7:00 am or more clock wise.

BTW, love this head! Absolutely the perfect head for my band gig.

The book is titled "Mackie Compact Mixers" by RudyTrubitt, published by Hal Leonard books in a '95 revision. The title is somewhat misleading as the book features "Basic Operations, Mixing Tips, and Creative Applications". Though written for the analog domain, it's a treasure trove of knowledge for any newbie, regardless of technology, brand of mixer, or passage of time. It promises to be "math-free", LOL! …and it is.

The WD has proven to be every bit as stellar for me as the original WA I enjoyed so much. Not only does the WD bring the Walkabout magic, but it has a host of new features, more power, and the ability to remain focused as the volume goes up.

I think the WD is easily the most user adjustable head in the Subway line.
