We bassist are so under appreciated!

It's just something we have to live with. I don't know my bus driver's name either but he gets me where I'm going safely and keeps it between the lines. That's what matters most.

I was just appreciated today at my church. They loved me and wished I wouldn't hold back, play my balls off. I think I will tomorrow morning, twice since we have 2 services on Sunday. My church has 3 services, one Saturday and 2 Sunday. Time to show them how it's done.

wrong. to the best of my knowledge only two of his threads have been closed/deleted...
If they didn't get deleted then they got moved to the forums where they belonged in the first place. He had 7 different threads going in the Bassists forum last night, 6 of which had nothing to do with bassists. I don't care if they got moved or deleted, I'm just glad someone cleaned up his mess.

They were deleted, not moved.

Quit posting. Read. Read posts for weeks. Read the sticky threads. Search for information, instead of posting new threads.

To be perfectly honest, no one cares what a 15 year old thinks. I know. I was 15 when I joined here.

You are here to learn, not tell people, and not to expose your silly adolescent goals and dreams. This is not your personal journal.

Please just read the forum until you actually understand how these things go.

Read this post until you fully understand it and then do what it says, please.

That's pretty rude. According to your join date, you must be 20. So old and wise.

.....*bursts out laughing* I love you guys. All of you. So very very much. I was entertained for quite some time. However, I feel my IQ has dropped now.

What REALLY makes a good MUSICIAN (not just bass player) is listening to, playing, and exposing oneself to many different styles of music, to keep a good attitude and to not let it get to your head, to NOT CARE about recognition, but the MUSIC, and practice.

Sorry for turning this into a flame war. My original intention was for this thread to be a place where people who felt unappreciated could vent, but it took a wrong turn and for that I'm sorry. Next time I will report the person who is trying to start a flame war and I ask that this thread stays a place for people who feel unappreciated to speak their mind(with PG words only, no cussing). Please do not post here if your intentions are to bash or disrespect any one that has posted on this thread.

Thank you,
Eric

You did nothing wrong except post a few meaningless threads. Everyone needs to mellow out. But I will advise you to be a little more choosy and don't post your every little thought as a new topic. Just look around, if you see a thread you have input you can add or if you have a question related to it, post it in the thread. And if you have a really good topic to start a thread, think about it a little deeper before you decide it needs to be posted. If you really think it needs posted, post it. Asking if Duff McKagan is on here is not a great topic. Asking Justin Meldal-Johnsen if he likes a bass he wouldn't use with a gun to his head is not a great topic. Be more selective with your thought process.

The whole is Duff on TB thing was a serious question from me and it turned into a joke fest, which I'm ok with, but the Meldal-Johnsen thing happened when I was brand new to TB and didn't know anyone except MAJOR METAL.

God, everyone lighten up on the dude, for crying out loud! He IS 15. OK, so he posts a bunch of meaningless threads...so what? In 80 years we'll all be dead.

+1. Coaching the guy on how to behave is one thing but let's keep things in perspective fer crying out loud. The opposite of a troll is an ogre - who snarls and hisses at anyone or anything that ventures off the "perfect" path. Trolls aren't good but ogres aren't either. Cut the kid some slack.
