Just today I noticed that ads are now popping up in the middle of threads (between posts). Is anyone else seeing this? There have long been ads at the tops and bottoms of TB threads but the in-the-middle ads are new to me. And no, I don’t want to expand my business to Nigeria. Annoying and invasive in a way that the other ad locations aren’t.

It is and always has been (for the last few years at least) at the bottom of every page.

Thanks for that info. As I mentioned, the newest change is the location of the ads within the page itself; the header and footer ads are not an issue.

I may be mistaken, but the addition of the word “gold” to the membership text you provided was not there at some time in the past. It would be nice if those changes were broadly communicated (rather than just edited) so that we could re-evaluate the value of varying membership levels.

I appreciate that Talkbass is not a democracy, but we can vote with our wallets.

I've been working with our ad team this morning - as of this posting Supporting Members should be down to only 2 (or maybe 3) ads per page. If you're seeing something different let me know. Gold supporters should of course see nothing as they don't even load the ad code.

On this page of this thread (which currently has 9 posts before mine) I am seeing 4 ads that take up close to a third of the screen's viewing area each (on a computer). Above the first post, between posts 2/3, between posts 5/6, and between posts 8/9. I don't mind the thinner banner ads as much, but these are really quite intrusive.

The ads are getting so huge that they actually BLOCK CONTENT.

On my iPad in horizontal view, the ads consume just shy of half the screen.

I hardly every use the phone to browse. Turned off my ad blocker for a bit this morning on the laptop just to see what would happen; a little clunky but not horrible. Phone is almost unbearable. BIG ads taking up the whole screen every few posts.
