What’s up with the ads in threads?

Just today I noticed that ads are now popping up in the middle of threads (between posts). Is anyone else seeing this? There have long been ads at the tops and bottoms of TB threads but the in-the-middle ads are new to me. And no, I don’t want to expand my business to Nigeria. Annoying and invasive in a way that the other ad locations aren’t.

I too am getting large banner ads in threads. On the page of this thread as I'm typing has 13 posts, I'm seeing 4 big banner ads... At the top, between posts 2/3, between posts 7/8, and between posts 12/13.

I don't mind getting the normal ad on top, but now I am getting four large ads throughout every page of any given thread, this is new, also understand that not every supporting member is getting the ads, respectfully this wasn't why I became a supporting lifetime member, will this be fixed?

Supporting members have always gotten ads. Gold supporting members get no ads.

Wait, shouldn’t the people with more disposable income be the ones getting the ads?

I'm getting ads on safari and firefox browsers, but no ads on Chrome, checked on both my phone and PC, no ads on chrome.

Up until today there would be an ad or two among the posts, plus the banners at the top and bottom. I'll probably jinx today's new developments by mentioning it, but all I'm seeing where the banner or ad would be, is a white dot - like this:

I just had this happen to me last night. It’s the same now, not cool. What gives?

I believe now it is happening on all browsers, so I assume everyone is getting it, not what I subscribed to when I upped to lifetime membership (back in 2015), disheartening.

Mine too. It's a bit confusing thinking a poster has attached a photo or file and realize no, it's an advertisment for something unrelated to the post or thread. I was (prior to a couple days ago) only seeing these ads at the end of pages.

Same. I see little benefit in supporting membership if I have to load and scroll through click-bait, and pay for the privilege.
