What’s up with the ads in threads?

Just today I noticed that ads are now popping up in the middle of threads (between posts). Is anyone else seeing this? There have long been ads at the tops and bottoms of TB threads but the in-the-middle ads are new to me. And no, I don’t want to expand my business to Nigeria. Annoying and invasive in a way that the other ad locations aren’t.

I've never seen a single ad on here using it, and I don't get ads on YouTube, either, which is something other ad blockers seem to fail with. So I'm standing by my endorsement.

100% ad free, no paying member, using ad blocker. It truly works and i've never seen one at all. Am always surprised when these threads pop up complaining about ads when there is a route to get you to where you want to go oh and i too use Ad Block

Allowing "acceptable" ads is a default setting that you can change to a complete block. Like others using it, I've never seen an ad here or on YouTube and most other websites.

I'm more annoyed that some of the ads aren't optimized for mobile. The pages keep side scrolling as the ad breaks the page and goes outside of the width.

I see ads now too. Last time this happened I pinged a mod and they fixed it. This time maybe it's a different (more wide-spread) issue?

I don’t mind the ads, personally. I have an ad blocker on my whole house network but whitelisted talkbass, as this is a community that I appreciate, and I recognize that it takes money to run and I want it to stick around. The vast majority of users aren’t supporting members and as this thread shows, they probably also use ad blockers.

If TB can’t make at least a little money, it won’t stick around and we won’t have nice things to look at and chat about anymore - suffering a few ads is well worth the cost of admission, imo.

You want to use this forum and also not get ads, pay the minimal member amount, and I mean minimal.

EDIT: I should have said Gold member, which if I'm not mistaken is no ads.

I don't mind the ads, and as someone who has gotten a great deal of value out of TB over the years, I even click on them with some regularity to help support the site.
