Left handed amps have knobs that go from ten to one counterclockwise, unlike right handed amp the go one to ten clockwise.

I liked this a lot, especially given the absurdity of the whole thread, but I had to read it more than once. You should put an emoji on stuff like that.

Wait a minute.... what? I'm going to need that explained to me. Nothing changes about the direction of the pot rotation, regardless of which way the neck is pointing. Or are you referring to tuner keys?

So on a right hand guitar they rotate clockwise.....off to full on.

Now on the lefty, they still go clockwise, basically backwards if a lefty, easily corrected via wiring but what is the whole point of paying the extra if they ain't going to do it properly?

Back when I was teaching guitar I'd try to convince the parents of left-handed beginners that the student would have an advantage if they had a right-hand guitar because (at least at the beginning stages) the fretting hand needed more strength and coordination. I was usually met with accusations of trying to "force" their kid into "conforming".

I read somewhere the hard days of church and community orchestras, people were likely to injure their right hand in their day job, so left was picked as they could keep the fingering hand functional.
Watching an orchestra and seeing all to bows moving together in a dramatic song is one of my favorite things to watch. It wouldn't be the same if even one was the wrong direction.

Sorry, but in my world, rotating a pot clockwise is 'turning it up', regardless of which hand I'm using. You're saying if I bought a left-handed instrument, I should expect the pots to get louder as I rotate them counter-clockwise? I'm not left-handed (although I'm married to a lefty, and my dad was) so maybe I don't get it, but it seems to me that rotating a pot clockwise should reasonably be expected to turn things up.

I guess I should have added that this thread was meant to be humorous..I knew when I read the ad that it was ridiculous and probably meant tongue in cheek..I like levity, I believe in this crazy world it helps...I thought the best part was the business of reversing the cord...I laughed when I read that..this ad if nothing else was great. I figured posting it here would get me some more laughs and it delivered..

Sorry if this was addressed in the five pages but the idea of the left being sinister isn't that old. My father went to Catholic school and the nuns forced him to write with his right hand. For the record, his penmanship leaves a lot to be desired.

Ibanez Promethean amps also have the controls running Treble - Mid - Bass. I use one now and then at rehearsals, and it always catches me out.

If you have the 500w promethean you can screw it in upside down and that would flip the controls to bass, mid, treble.
