what amp is AJ using here ?

Man, does that look a lot like the Bergantino HT210s!!!... looks like the same horn, and I assume it's full weight, with hi xmax ceramic drivers.

Wow... 15's... so that horn is HUGE. Interesting that Anthony would be interested in such a huge cab, since he doesn't use a lot of stage volume from what I understand.

However, the general design makes sense from what I hear in Anthony's tone... deep bass, and a very even transition from the mids to the upper mids and treble... so deeply voiced woofers, and a two way design with a very large, powerful PA-type horn crossed over very low (at the top end of the hi xmax woofers upper frequency limit). This is very similar to the older Bergantino HT designs (Anthony was actually using an HT210 when I saw him a while back... which seems to be a 'mini' version of this general design). I wonder why he just doesn't get an IP310 and be done with it?

That's a good description of what he seems to go after.

In the cabinets that he designs with Nick, he tends to go after larger speakers. In Calle 54 he used custom 12's. In the cabinet above he uses 15's and another custom cabinet that Nick built for him used 12's as well, IIRC.

That cab has seen a few different owners and some of them are on TB.

An IP310 would be very interesting though. That with a Mil Media TD1 would be right up his alley.

Maybe it's the digital amp in the IP 310...I personally have not heard one that would REALLY have been up there in the sound department.
( it is a digital amp in that cab, isn't it?)

:confused: It is a class D amp with a switch mode power supply, but it's just killer. I find no difference any more between the SMPS amps (whether they are class D or not) and their traditional or toriodal power supply brethern (comparing similar wattage units). Things have come a LONG way since the Walter Woods amps! The IP310, while not completely my thing tone-wise, is about the most crushingly powerful 'combo amp' I've ever heard, and it's a beautifully balanced 'clean machine'.

Every time I've seen him at the 55 Bar with his Meyers or an Epifani cab with a 1-space amp, he was quite loud. So much so that after the sets, Cliff Almond would complain about it. No doubt since Cliff's in the corner, he's getting even more bass there.

I have no idea how AJ moves his gear around. He told me that he often leaves his Meyers there at the club and only moves them when he has to use them elsewhere. I've never seen any roadies or friends help him though. The 55 Bar has a house Epifani T-410 I believe.

Seems that, in true AJ fashion, he's schlepping for the tone he hears despite his health.

i've seen a ton of players especially in NYC schlep around some fancy pants boutique gear (myself included!), but AJ really makes whatever he's using definitely worth while. his live tone is easily one of the best i've ever heard.

soooooo clear, articulate, authoritative, yet juicy and just deeeeeep feeling.

Now that I've researched the Bel Canto site a bit, I'm thinking AJ was using the e.One REF1000.

And then a Millennia Media TD-1 with the platinum finish option.

Bel Canto makes a 300 watt amp as well but I'm guessing AJ went with more watts. :smug:

I would do anything to get Anthony to plug into one of the Berg IP153 (I think they're called) cabs. It's the IP cab with the 115, horn and a 1x6 or 8. I'd bet that would be right up his alley.

I hope to get my mini AJ rig this year with the IP112/EX112 with a Milennia TD-1. That would be, for me, tonal bliss with an easy schlep.
