what amp is AJ using here ?

I personally did not like the Bel Cantos quite as much as some others.
They do have the great benefit of being light and small however.
They are not all too expensive either.( compared with krell)
And they most certainly beat the "D" amps I have heard in the bass amp world.
I can not comment on their built quality however.

I did read that he used to use monster some time ago
As surprising as this might be....
I also read that he used quattro fil by nordost-a completely different, and very good thing, those nordost cables.

I think it's zaolla interconnects ( ICP range I think) from instrument to amp seems to be the lead used.
May of course have changed now from when I saw the gig last year.:hiding:

If it is "For The Love of Money" by the O'jays you are referring to, I remember in an interview Anthony stated he used a brand new (at the time) Fender p-bass with a Maestro phase shifter that he had modded. An educated guess is that the strings were Rotosounds, and the pick is obvious. His jazz bass with a p-bass neck "Working Girl" as he called it, IS on a large number of recordings, probably beginning with "Me And Mrs. Jones" by Billy Paul in '71. On that record, it sounds like the back pickup, lots of bass eq'ed in, and it really sounds like a nylon flatwound tone to me. His other work of that time with the electric jazz group The Catalyst has this same tone, j-bass, back pickup- flats. I love his sound and style, no matter what bass he uses, always impeccable playing. One of the best musicians ever to play the bass.
