Came here to learn, and I have learned a lot. However I keep stumbling over all the acronyms.

What is DI?

What is GAS?

PS played in a band in mis 60s, saxophone. Bought a bass Fender Jazz for Christmas. Yup, an old fart, I'm 63 but loving life. Found a great instructor . . . Don't have the time to learn by myself . . .

What are the acronyms you use (music and bass specific) and not the other ones.

DI = Direct Input - Like a DI Box, or a Direct Out on the back of a bass amp

GAS = Gear Acquisition Syndrome - What a lot of TBers get when viewing the classifieds sections.

DI IS Direct Injection... younger players started calling input, but it was started as injection.

EDIT: TB does not appreciate Modern Family's sense of humour... I think you can figure out what should make that acronym.

Ok. That was helpful (TWH) how about at the end of statements where people say "hiding" you're not hiding. I know who you are. And "eek", "bassist" etc. I've been reading posts on this site for quite a while now and have never seen a proper explanation. I'm still a noob I suppose.
