There's no scotch ales available where I live, which kind of sucks because they taste great.

As for the picture of JD above, I've never been a fan and I really never understood the appeal. I'm a whiskey man, bourbon and rye are my sports, but that charcoal filtering process just ruins it completely for me. I just don't get it....

My exposure to other whiskeys has been some what limited. JD was the first whiskey that I could stomach, after a few glasses I started to really like the stuff. Now I'm salivating thinking about it .

Is it odd that I don't like JW Red Label?

Alright I lied. We don't get good scotch ale in my province. Nah I'm kidding, I've never had the pumphouse scotch ale, we actually don't get it here. Only ever see the blueberry and Acadian, and the blueberry sucks.

Not really, I never really got into scotch either. I'm huge on most bourbon and never really tasted a scotch that I really enjoyed, maybe Glenfiddich and Jameson if there's nothing else behind the bar that looks good. Truth be told I haven't tried a lot though, it's just not "my flavour", nor my wallet's. Barely got through the bottle of famous grouse I bought last new years.

I like the Acadian, though, and their SOB is a nice beer, too.

I've never had their Scotch ale, so I don't know if it's any good. I tend to drink more Picaroons and Garrison than Pumphouse.
